      The Department of Chemical Engineering commenced functioning in the year of 1997 with an intake of 40. In the year 2002 the intake was enhanced to 60. Master of Technology in Chemical Engineering was started in the year 2004.

      School of Chemical Engineering has well qualified and experienced faculty who are specialists in the areas of Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Mass Transfer Operations, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Mechanical Unit Operations, Process Dynamics and Control, Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics, Chemical Process Calculations, Chemical Process Equipment Design and Chemical Process Modeling, Simulation and Optimization

      Currently there are 20 dedicated faculty members with a rich experience in different areas of Chemical Engineering. The faculty members are actively involved in Research activities in the fields of their specialization. They have published and presented a number of research papers in International/National Journals and Conferences.

      The School attributes its success to the creative and innovative outlook of the students. The School encourages students to participate in various Conferences / Symposia for presenting technical papers. They are also encouraged to undergo Industrial Training programmes to get hands on experience in the real time processes currently in application.

      On successful completion of the B.Tech programme, the students are also guided to pursue higher studies / research in reputed Universities in the country as well as abroad. The School of Chemical Engineering is supported by the Training and Placement Cell, which provides assistance to the students in getting trained in different areas of Chemical Engineering as well as in finding employement with different process industries and research institutes.

      The School of Chemical Engineering drawing upon its strength of highly qualified, well trained faculty, state of art infrastructure, innovative teaching methodology and regular student counseling sessions act as a powerful catalyst to transform an average student into a confident, highly employable engineer who is abreast with the rapidly changing technological trends in the market.
