Dept. of Electrical

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering consists of a strong team in Research and Development. The thrust areas of research are Power Electronics and Drives, SMPS, AI application to power systems, Power System deregulation, Power System Protection, FACTS devices and Applications, DC/AC drives and hybrid vehicle. Faculty of this department are actively involved in research publications and has published around 272 papers in various reputed journals and conferences. Apart from papers Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has filed 3 patents.

    "Hardware model implementation of IEEE 57 Bus power system network" sanctioned by SERB under EMEQ Scheme worth Rs 36 Lakhs, principal investigator being Dr K Mercy Rosalina.

  • Completed Research Projects  

    "1 MW SPVp Roof Top Solar Power Plant" sanctioned for Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology & Research (Deemed to be University) in partnership with MNRE of worth Rs 650 Lakhs. The amount of contribution by MNRE is 30% and remaining by Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology & Research (Deemed to be University). Principal Investigator being HoD, EEE.

    DST sponsored project on "Design of back to back PV Solar Panel with rotating convex lense & concave mirror using neuro-fuzzy based controller for industrial drive to get better output in lesser area" of amount Rs 25.74 Lakhs and the investigator being Dr G Durga Sukumar.

    AICTE sponsored a project on "MODROBS (Power converters)" of amount Rs 10 Lakhs and the investigator being Dr G R K Murthy.

    APCOST sponsored a project on "Solar Electric Battery Charger"

    "Design and Implementation of Universal controller based Effective Energy Storage and Utilization System for Agriculture applications" worth Rs 44 Lakhs submitted to DST.

    FIST proposal submitted to DST worth Rs 86.62 Lakhs, principal investigator being Dr G Srinivasa Rao.

    "Design & Development of Hybrid Auto Rickshaw" submitted to DST worth Rs 28.37 Lakhs, principal investigator being Dr G Srinivasa Rao.
