An attempt is made to serve the local community through introducing Agricultural Engineering branch and there was a strong valuable reason for establishment of the department that VFSTR University is located in rural areas. Where 70% population is connected with Agriculture directly and indirectly. The department of Applied(Agricultural)Engineering has started in Vignan University in 2013 as BTech Agricultural Engineering degree program and later on extended to PG and PHD programs in Agricultural Engineering. Institution considers it obligatory to address local problems of farmers through active field oriented research and extension activities with adequate solutions in the form od easy to use and cost-effective package of practices, tools, equipment and machinery for greater mechanization in Agriculture through Agriculture Engineering.
