NRKR Spinning Mills
Faculty members and students, visited (21.09.2024) NRKR Spinning Mills in Chebrolu. The visit provided students with valuable insights into fiber testing processes, including High Volume Instrument (HVI) testing and single yarn strength measurement, and also learned about identifying Classimate faults. In addition to testing, students gained practical exposure to the working of machinery, starting from mixing, blow room, carding, drawframe, comber, simplex, and ring spinning to auto coner (winding) and packing operations. The visit was a comprehensive learning experience, offering a deep understanding of spinning mill operations.

Handloom day
On occasion of 10th ‘National Handloom Day the Department of Textile Technology, celebrated and conducted an event, showcased their product of 'Handloom made banana cotton mixed fabrics, Kalamkari art designs, and Tie and dye fabrics. Out of all display, 2 prizes were distributed to the student to encourage their talent.

Conference on Advancing Technical Textiles
A significant national conference focusing on the advancement of ‘Technical Textiles’ was convened at Vijayawada on January 29, 2024. Hosted under the theme "Policy Pathways for Advancing Technical Textiles," the event garnered substantial participation from esteemed delegates, including students, faculty members, and industry experts. Organized by the Department of Handlooms & Textiles, Government of Andhra Pradesh, in collaboration with the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, the conference served as a crucial platform to discuss emerging trends and challenges within the Technical Textiles sector. The conference witnessed an impressive turnout, with 6 second year students, 9 third-year students, and 5 faculty members of Textile Technology.
Notably, the esteemed presence of the Dean of the School of Core Engineering at VFSTR (Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology & Research) added significant academic weight to the proceedings. The highlight of the event was the special address delivered by the Honorable Minister for Industries, Infrastructure Investment & Commerce, Information Technology, and Handlooms and Textiles of Andhra Pradesh. His insightful remarks underscored the state government's commitment to fostering innovation and growth within the Technical Textiles industry. Throughout the conference, participants gained invaluable insights into the 12 segments of the Technical Textiles sector, exploring market trends and identifying key challenges. Discussions revolved around policy frameworks, research and development initiatives, and industry-academic collaborations aimed at propelling the sector towards sustainable growth and global competitiveness.
