Universality: Linear algebra + differential equations provide a universal framework to model a huge variety of phenomena - from physical systems to machine learning - so they serve as a core engine in computational science. Efficiency: By representing problems in matrix form, computers can exploit optimized linear algebra libraries (BLAS, LAPACK, etc.) to perform very large-scale calculations efficiently. Scalability: High-dimensional systems (many variables) that would be intractable otherwise become manageable because of matrix methods. Numerical Robustness: Numerical methods link theory (exact mathematics) to practice (approximate solutions), letting us simulate real-world dynamic systems reliably on computers

Linear algebra gives us tools (vectors, matrices, eigen-structures) to represent and analyze linear systems. Differential equations often describe how systems evolve over time, and many of them are linear, or can be approximated as linear. When you write a system of linear ODEs as x =Ax =Ax, you can directly apply linear algebra (eigenvalues, matrix exponentials) to solve it. Numerical linear algebra (solving big matrices) is what modern computers use to practically simulate differential equations. This synergy — algebra + dynamics + numerics - is what powers a lot of the simulations, modeling, machine learning, and computing we do today
