Summary
This seminar has been a remarkable confluence of ideas, interpretations, and critical reflections. It would not have been possible without the collective effort, enthusiasm, and academic passion of many individuals and institutions. our distinguished speakers whose erudite presentations have elevated the discourse of this seminar: • Prof. Manojit Mandal from Jadavpur University, for his thought-provoking keynote on Repoliticising the Bard: Shakespeare and Indian Politics. • Mr. Subhankar Bhattacharya, Research Scholar from the University of Cambridge, for his compelling paper on The Representation of the Body and Sexual Violence in Titus Andronicus. • Dr. Sohel Aziz of Alia University, for his insightful presentation on Eco-Theatre in Shakespeare, offering a philosophical exploration of nature and transformation in the Bard's works. • Prof. Md. Sajidul Islam from Aligarh Muslim University, for his engaging session on Shakespeare and the Law, which opened new dimensions of legal interpretations in the plays. • Dr. Ritushree Sengupta from the University of Bankura, for her thoughtful presentation From Margins to Centers, revisiting and reclaiming the role of women in Shakespeare’s canon. This seminar has reminded us once again of the enduring relevance of Shakespeare, and how his works continue to evolve and provoke thought across disciplines and cultures. I hope these two days have inspired further inquiry, dialogue, and collaboration.
