Summary
The Staff Development Programme (Phase I) organized by AFSD was a resounding success. Over six days, the sessions combined theoretical inputs with practical exercises, ensuring a holistic learning experience. The DEOs actively participated in all activities and acknowledged the value of learning about AI tools and documentation practices.
The program not only improved the participants' communication and drafting skills but also reinforced the importance of ethics, integrity, and professionalism in workplace conduct. AFSD's initiative to organize such developmental programs will undoubtedly contribute to the overall efficiency and professionalism of the administrative staff at VFSTR.
About Workshop
Day 1 - Inaugural Session (29th October, 2025)
The program commenced with an inaugural session led by the AFSD team. The coordinators emphasized the significance of effective communication and drafting in day-to-day administrative work. Participants were oriented toward the objectives of the program and the schedule for the following days.
Day 2 - Work Place Communication and Professionalism (30th October, 2025)

Dr. Nagendra Rao Howji delivered an insightful session on Workplace Communication and Professionalism. He highlighted how effective communication contributes to a healthy work culture and how professionalism reflects an individual's attitude and organizational values. The session covered verbal and non-verbal communication, email etiquette, and teamwork principles essential for DEOs.
Day 3 & Day 4 - Drafting Skills and Practical Exercises (31st October & 1st November, 2025)

The second and third days focused on Drafting Skills, including note drafting, official correspondence, and record documentation. Participants were trained in preparing official letters, memos, reports, and circulars. The sessions also featured several hands-on drafting activities, allowing participants to practice and refine their writing. The interactive environment encouraged peer learning and constructive feedback from the facilitators.
Day 5 - Using AI Tools for Drafting and Office Work (3rd November, 2025)

The fourth day introduced participants to AI Tools for Drafting and Data Management. The speakers demonstrated various AI-powered tools that can support DEOs in documentation, data entry, and report generation. Participants learned about different AI applications suited for office work, including those for text editing, summarization, and document formatting.
Day 6 -Duties, Responsibilities, Documentation, and Workplace Ethics (4th November, 2025)

The fifth day focused on Roles, Responsibilities, and Documentation of DEOs. The speakers elaborated on the essential duties of DEOs, the importance of maintaining official records, confidentiality, and adherence to workplace ethics. The session clarified procedural workflows and best practices for effective documentation management.
Day 7 - Personal and Professional Integrity & Valedictory Session (5th November, 2025)
Resource Person: Prof. A. Sharada, Dean -International Students, VFSTR
The final day featured a thought-provoking session by Prof. Sharada on Personal and Professional Integrity. She discussed ethical decision-making, discipline, and accountability in the workplace. The session motivated participants to uphold integrity and moral values in their professional roles.
Following her address, certificates were distributed to all the participants from different departments. The program concluded with positive feedback from participants, expressing that the sessions significantly enhanced their understanding of communication, drafting, and ethical responsibilities.
