Summary
Mr. P. Naga Sai Kiran began the sessions with an introduction to ethical hacking and cybersecurity fundamentals. He explained the importance of ethical hacking in securing networks and systems, focusing on reconnaissance and enumeration techniques to identify potential vulnerabilities. In the following lectures, students learned about network scanning using tools like Nmap and vulnerability assessment using Metasploit and Burp Suite. He demonstrated how hackers exploit weaknesses in systems and how ethical hackers use similar techniques responsibly to improve security. Practical sessions included real-world labs on penetration testing, analyzing network traffic using Wireshark, and performing web application security testing. Students also participated in Capture The Flag challenges, where they applied their skills to solve simulated cybersecurity problems. Discussions during the course highlighted topics such as red teaming and blue teaming, modern cyber threats, and defensive security measures. Mr. Sai Kiran emphasized the importance of continuous learning and ethical responsibility in cybersecurity careers. The lectures were practical, hands-on, and engaging, helping students gain real experience in using hacking tools and understanding security mechanisms. By the end of the sessions, students were confident in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cybersecurity risks in real-world environments.

About Guest Lecture
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Vignan University conducted a Value-Added Course titled Ethical Hacking Bootcamp A Practical Session from 4th to 8th March 2025. The sessions were handled by Mr. P. Naga Sai Kiran, a cybersecurity expert and trainer at Learning Saga. He specializes in ethical hacking, penetration testing, and cyber defense, with extensive experience in network and web application security, OSINT, and incident response. The course provided students with practical knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and hands-on training in ethical hacking techniques. It covered major topics such as reconnaissance, vulnerability assessment, exploitation, and penetration testing of networks, web applications, and wireless systems. Students used industry-standard tools like Metasploit, Nmap, Burp Suite, and Wireshark to perform simulated cyberattacks and Capture The Flag challenges. By the end of the course, students gained the ability to identify vulnerabilities, conduct ethical hacking assessments, and apply defensive strategies against cyber threats. The sessions helped participants understand both the technical and ethical aspects of hacking, preparing them for future roles in cybersecurity and certifications such as CEH, OSCP, and PenTest+. The course was highly interactive, combining theory with real-world practice to strengthen students practical understanding.
