Facilities
The Department of Textile Technology boasts a range of state-of-the-art laboratory facilities that support both academic and research initiatives taken under by both the faculty and the students. These facilities encompass advanced equipment in the areas of textile fibers, yarn manufacturing, fabric manufacturing, chemical processing, and physical testing of textiles that would be widely advantageous for any of the research or practical requirement. The laboratories are designed to provide both the students and researchers with hands-on experience and deep technical knowledge in various stages of textile production beginning from the fiber analysis to fabric finishing.

Textile wet processing lab
The Textile Wet Process Laboratory is designed to enable students to understand the main characteristics of various wet processing techniques applied to textile materials, such as dyeing, printing, and finishing.
IR Dyeing Machines
IR dyeing machines use infrared radiation to heat and dye materials, offering precise temperature control and even dye penetration.
Ring Spinning Machine
A yarn spinning lab is a facility equipped with machinery and tools used to transform fibers into yarn.
Garment manufacturing lab
A garment manufacturing lab is a dedicated space equipped with the machinery and tools necessary for designing, developing, and producing garments.
General Facilities

Drum Carder
A drum carder is a fiber processing machine used to align and blend fibers for spinning or other textile applications.
Semi computerized flat knitting m/c
Flat knitting produces fabric in a flat, open width, offering versatility in creating shaped panels and various knit structures for garments and other textile products.
Sewing Machine-SNLS
A sewing machine uses a single needle to create a lock stitch, which is the most common type of stitch used in sewing.
Table Top Loom
A table top loom is a compact, manually operated weaving device designed for small-scale projects and sampling.
Labs
In addition to its teaching laboratories, the department has robust research facilities dedicated to advancing knowledge in the textile domain. Recently, the department received funding from the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) under the Ministry of Textiles to establish a Technical Textile Laboratory. This new laboratory focuses on the development and testing of technical textiles, such as those used in healthcare, geotextiles, automotive, geotextiles, and protective clothing. The Technical Textile Laboratory will serve as a hub for cutting-edge research, allowing the department to contribute to innovative solutions within the textile industry. With these facilities, the Department of Textile Technology is well-equipped to lead in both education and research, fostering advancements in the textile sector.









International Accreditation Organization - IAO
Vignan’s Foundation for Science, Technology, and Research (Vignan) met the accreditation requirements of the International Accreditation Organization (IAO) and was granted full accreditation.
