VFSTR offers a comprehensive range of Mechanical Engineering programs at the Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. levels, laying a solid foundation in core engineering principles since its establishment in 1997. Our dynamic industry-oriented curriculum aligns with global teaching standards and incorporates experiential learning through hands-on practice and field visits, ensuring students engage with real-time case studies that enhance their practical skills. The department's commitment to excellence is reflected in its accreditations from the NBA until 2026 and ABET (USA) until 2030, making it the only institute in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including 14 academic laboratories, 4 research centers, and 2 centers of excellence specializing in Composite Materials, Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, and Alternate Fuels. Our faculty, a blend of experienced professionals and young educators from esteemed institutions like IITs and NITs, fosters a student-centric learning environment that connects engineering education to research and industry challenges. Graduates emerge ready to engage in ethical engineering practices, with a strong awareness of societal and environmental impacts. Advancements include robotics (autonomous systems and cobots), additive manufacturing (3D printing), AI integration in predictive maintenance, and renewable energy technologies like advanced wind turbines and solar systems.
For conducting experimental research, we have a practice of providing seed grant upto a worth of Rs. 2 lakhs to develop prototype and further the students are encouraged for start-ups with the aid of VIGNAN – TBI under faculty mentorship.
The students who have completed the 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics courses and obtained a minimum of 60% marks become eligible to seek admission in the Mechanical Engineering Program. The selection process involves a specially designed entrance test called Vignan's Scholastic Aptitude Test (V-SAT) for admission to the B. Tech program.
Yes, 25% of seats in each department are reserved for scholarships, based on merit and availability. Scholarships range from 25% to 75% tuition waiver, subject to maintaining 70% academic performance annually.
We would like to happily inform that the Department has achieved accreditation status by NBA for a period of 3 years i.e., from 2023 to 2026 successfully completing second inspection and ABET accreditation for a period of 6 years till 2030 which is the only institute in A.P. and Telangana.
