The SNS & AT has been initiated recently at VFSTR to have better interdepartmental collaboration and coordination. The department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Food Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, and Pharmacy are an integral part of this school. These departments together are making an effort to reinforce the frontline research areas.
The Department of Biotechnology was established in the year 2006. It was accredited by NBA in the year 2020. The Department is well established with COE, animal cell culture facility, bioprocessing lab, plant tissue culture lab, bioinformatics lab, animal house, clean room, and biogas plant, with an ample strength of students and faculty. The Department has been supported by VFSTR, DST-FIST and has attracted more than 10 external research projects. The Department offers B. Tech (Biotechnology and Bioinformatics), B.Tech. Bioclues.org, India's largest Bioinformatics society enters 18 years in service this October 2022 even as the organization has set up vision 2030. The society has organized her debut onsite Inbix'17 conference in Jaipur during November 2017 and Inbix'19 in HMV, Jalandhar, Inbix'20 in North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, Meghalaya, and Inbix'21 in CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat, Assam as a virtual organization which were a huge success. Keeping in view of the conference series, Inbix'22 conference would be held at VFSTR, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India, on 31 October to 2 November 2022. The organizers hope this opportunity will not only foster interactions and collaborations among practitioners but will also allow young researchers interact with the world leaders, who are among the top researchers in bioinformatics and computational biology.
Research in the fields of genomics and drug discovery has gained momentum within the Indian subcontinent over the last several years. As a result, nutrigenomics, medical genomics, and drug discovery have ushered an exciting phase in the genomic technologies shadowed by systems biology and synthetic biology approaches. The Indian bioinformatics community is pretty large and loaded with impeccable research. It is time we all joined hands together to discuss the "I" in Indian bioinformatics spectrum. Inbix'22 is organising on the theme "International Conference on - Frontiers in Nutrition, Medical Genomics, and Drug Discovery". The organizers welcome all bioinformaticists across the world to take part in this conference to be held in hybrid mode both in OFFLINE and ONLINE hosted by VFSTR.
