Candidates are evaluated based on academic performance, research experience, a written test, and an interview.
Full-time candidates need a first-class B.Tech and M.Tech, while part-time candidates can use industry experience.
The written test assesses foundational knowledge and is crucial unless waived for candidates who have cleared GATE or CSIR-NET.
Relevant work experience adds value, contributing up to 5% of the total evaluation score.
After admission, supervisors are assigned based on research interests and mutual agreement between the student and faculty.
