Memorandum of Undertaking
On July 1st 2025, at AP Fisheries Camp Office, Tadigadapa, Vijayawada an MoU was signed in between VFSTR and Andhra Pradesh Fisheries University on "Collaborative research, Training, and Capacity Building in Aquaculture Health and Technology". The MoU was exchanged between Prof. P.M.V Rao sir, Registrar-VFSTR and Shri. B. Rajasekhar sir, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries & Special Officer APFU.

Mr. N. Mohan Krishna
On 2nd November 2024 the department of Chemical Engineering has organized a Industry expert talk on the topic “SITE AND PROCESS SAFETY AND ENTRY-JOB ROLES OPPORTUNITIES” by Mr. N. Mohan Krishna, Junior safety Engineer, BUREAU VERITAS, ABU DHABI. He has delivered valuable insights regarding the safety on site and offsite and career opportunities in the safety department. The guest lecture centered on site and process safety, as well as entry-level job opportunities in the chemical engineering field. The speaker discussed the critical role of safety in the industry, emphasizing the importance of maintaining safe operations across various sectors. Drawing from personal experience, the speaker shared insights into safety protocols and highlighted how essential safety practices are to industrial processes. The session provided guidance on necessary courses and certifications for pursuing a career in process industry safety, both within India and abroad.
Additionally, the lecture explored the diverse roles chemical engineers can assume in safety and other areas, with specific case studies illustrating advancements and best practices in safety management. Concluding with a discussion on career opportunities and practical advice, the session offered a comprehensive view of safety’s role in industry and the pathways available for aspiring engineers in this field.

Guest Mr. Thota Hari Krishna (Alumni)
The Department of Chemical Engineering, VFSTR, arranged a Guest Lecture featuring Mr. Thota Hari Krishna, an alumnus of VEC currently serving as the Head of the Thermal Power Section at ISRO in Bengaluru. The event took place on January 6, 2024, conducted via a Zoom Meeting, where Mr. T. Hari Krishna engaged with second and third-year Chemical engineering students. During the lecture, Mr. Hari Krishna shared insights into his experiences and journey at Vignan Engineering College, highlighting the path that led him to his current position at ISRO. He also elaborated on his professional background, detailing his work experience. The discourse extended to career guidance for current students, addressing topics such as job selection, pursuing advanced studies, and responding to student queries.Mr. Hari Krishna expressed gratitude to the VEC staff for their support and encouragement during his B.Tech tenure.
The Department of Chemical Engineering conducted a Guest Lecture featuring Mr. B. Gowtham, a Design Engineer from the 2019-23 batch currently employed at Qualitus Pharma, Hyderabad. The lecture, held on January 4, 2024, focused on the significance of equipment design, software proficiency, and professional advancement in core industries. Mr. Gowtham engaged with second and third-year students, elucidating the roles of Chemical Engineers in the field of design. He addressed queries regarding core industries for chemical engineers and underscored the importance of pursuing higher education. Concluding the session, Mr. Gowtham emphasized the relevance of communication skills and highlighted core opportunities in the field.

Guest Mr. Moganty Surya Shekhar(Alumni)
Mr. Moganty Surya Shekhar, Chief Technolgy Officer, NOHMS/SIONIC Energy, Rochester, NewYork, Alumni of Vignan Chemical engineering , delivered a lecture to the students of chemical engineering and petroleum engineering regarding Process Safety and HSE Management in Oil & Gas sector. He discussed mainly three aspects of lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries. First an understanding of Li-ion battery fundamentals is provided through a brief discussion centered on the aerospace industry’s choice to use Li-ion batteries, general performance characteristics, electrochemical reaction basics, and the heat generated during nominal operation.
He informed students about the present status of Petroleum and Chemical Industries and what they look for in a candidate when hiring for a job. He also shared his experience and suggested students on how to easily get a job through work experience.

Mr.Narayana Alumni
Mr.Narayana Alumni (1997-2001) of Chemical engineering department has interacted with the students of chemical engineering on 07-12-2022. Sir completed his M. Tech in chemical engineering (2001-2003) in NIT Warangal. Sir is presently working in pharma industry in Geedimetala, Hyderabad. Sir spoke on the opportunities for chemical engineers in different industries. Later sir shared his experiences after his graduation. Sir interacted with the students of chemical engineering about job opportunities in various industry sectors like Petro chemicals, Refineries, Soap, Plastic, Pharmaceuticals. Sir also explained the demands and skills needed for the students to meet the needs of the industry like maintaining Consistency, Discipline, Team work ect. Sir also spoke the Various posts in Chemical Plant like Production Engineer, Plant design Engineer, Safety Engineer, Cost Engineer, Technical Engineer, Manager, General Manager, HOD posts. Later Sir has answered to the students questions on job opportunities like initial basic pay for a undergraduate, Working conditions in a chemical plant, growth of a individual in the industry etc. Later Sir also spoke the Higher education in chemical engineering and explained about that and also said about GATE exam and uses of it for entering into PSU companies. Sir has also motivated the students to prefer a job towards core side and cleared their queries.

5. An alumni interaction has been organized on November 14, 2022, specifically for the current IV year Chemical Engineering students, aimed at addressing their inquiries about placements in various industries and opportunities for higher education. Madira Chandana, a 2021 graduate and current process engineer at Deccan Fine Chemicals, engaged with the students, providing valuable insights into the significance of core engineering disciplines, particularly in the chemical sector. The interaction was met with enthusiastic participation from the students, who took the opportunity to clarify their doubts regarding job prospects and further academic pursuits. This session, organized by Dr. P. Vijetha, faculty of Chemical Engineering, underscores the critical role that core engineering fields play in shaping successful careers and advancing industry standards.

Guest Mr.K.Dasaradhi(Alumni)
Mr.K.Dasaradhi, working as Team Leader as Delivery Manager, Mphasis Corp Ltd, Bangalore, interacted with 1st year newly joined students in the valedictory function of orientation programme 2022-23 on 27-08-2022. He is alumni of first batch (1997-2001) of Chemical Engineering. Mr.K.Dasaradhi advised the students to always explore new possibilities. He spoke about how his journey in Vignan has helped him to be in the position what he is today. He also said that Learning is the process and overcoming hardships is the success. To be what you want, you need to shower yourself with patience and zeal to achieve it. He also added that students need to understand what is happening around the world so that you can define success with a better terminology. Mr.Dasaradhi said that students still have a long way to go. The journey is not tomorrow, the journey begins now. Put yourself together in one accord and begin trekking the dreaded journey now since an early bird catches the worm. Be like those spiders in person which when united can tie up a lion. Dr.L.Rathaiah, Chairman, Vignan group of institutions appreciated his visit to university for interacting with First year new buddies.
