CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION 3.0
The crime scene presented during CSI 3.0 was based on a fictional case: Abhishek and Arjun were once best friends who built a business empire together. Abhishek intelligence and hard work made the company successful, while Arjun provided financial support. Over time, Abhishek received more recognition, creating jealousy in Arjun. Manipulated by greed, Arjun forged documents, framed Abhishek in a financial scam, and forced him out of the company. Unable to bear the betrayal and loss of reputation, Abhishek ended his life. Years later, Abhishek cousin Rahul entered Arjun company under a fake identity, waiting for revenge. When Arjun personal life deteriorated, Rahul murdered him and staged the scene to frame Arjun wife Maya. Participants were required to examine the clues at the scene and identify the real killer Rahul.

LEXONOVA- LAW FEST CUM Fresher's
The Law Department conducted its 2nd Law Fest: LEXONOVA on 18th October, 2025 from 10 AM to 4 PM in SA RE GA MA Seminar Hall. The event saw participation and performances from students of Vignan Institute of Law including Classical Dance by 1st year students, Solo and Group dance performances, singing performances, etc. The faculties and guests also gave speeches about the importance of these cultural events in academic setup for overall well-being of the students. The event ended with Lunch organised for all the students and staff members.

FIELD VISIT TO AMARAVATHI
The Law Department went on a field visit to Amaravathi on 11th April, 2025. All the students from 1st to final year along with all the faculties went to the visit. The visit was a legal-historical visit to Buddhist Stupa, Buddha Statute and Undavalli Caves. This was an all-day event of field visit. Students had enriching experience learning about the teachings of Lord Buddha and its relation with law and legal studies. History Department Faculty Dr. Shameem also accompanied the law students of 1st year BALLB exclusively as part of their field visit for their History course.

The Law Department conducted 1st Lex Fest cum Farewell on 4th April, 2025 from 4 PM to 8 PM in Spoorthi Seminar Hall. The event saw participation and performances from students of Vignan Institute of Law including Classical Dance by 1st year student Yamini, Solo and Group dance performances, singing performances, etc. The faculties and guests also gave speeches about the outgoing students of the final year. Vignan's Pro Bono Club Hosted a Successful Pro Bono Week 1.0 Competitions Vadlamudi, Andhra Pradesh – Vignan's Pro Bono Club successfully organized its inaugural Pro Bono Week 1.0, a series of competitions held from March 24th to March 29th. The event aimed to promote social awareness and engagement among students, attracting participation from across India. The Pro Bono Week 1.0 commenced with an inspiring inaugural address delivered by the Hon'ble Shri Justice J. Chelameswar (Rtd), setting a high standard for the week's proceedings. The event witnessed an impressive turnout, with over 200 students from various parts of India actively participating in four distinct competitions: * Elocution: Providing a platform for students to express their views on pertinent social issues. * Article Writing: Encouraging in-depth research and critical analysis through written discourse. * Poster Making: Fostering creativity and visual communication to convey powerful messages. * Reel Making: Embracing modern digital media to raise awareness and engage a wider audience. In recognition of the participants' talent and dedication, cash prizes worth ₹25,000 were announced for the winners of the respective competitions. Pro Bono Week 1.0 proved to be a resounding success, fostering a spirit of social responsibility and healthy competition among the student community. The Vignan's Pro Bono Club looks forward to organizing similar impactful events in the future.

COURT VISIT TO DISTRICT COURT, GUNTUR
On March 8th, students of Vignan Institute of Law from the 3rd and 4th years visited the District Court of Guntur to observe the functioning of Lok Adalat. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the judicial system and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. A total of 25 students participated in the visit, accompanied by two faculty members—Mr. Ritul Aryan, Assistant Professor, and Dr. Santhosh Raju, Assistant Professor. Upon arrival, students were divided into batches and assigned different court halls to observe various proceedings happening there. The Lok Adalat session, held on Saturday, provided them with good insights into the expeditious resolution of cases through conciliation and mutual settlement. They witnessed the resolution of civil disputes, motor accident claims, and petty criminal matters without prolonged litigation. The officers explained the importance of compromise-based settlements, ensuring justice while reducing the burden on regular courts. Students actively engaged in discussions with legal professionals and advocates and observed how cases were mediated efficiently. The visit helped them understand the practical application of legal principles and the role of Lok Adalats in promoting accessible and speedy justice. The experience was highly enriching, reinforcing the importance of alternative dispute resolution in the Indian legal framework.

Constitution Day celebrations at Vignan's University
Justice G Ramakrishna Prasad of the Amaravati High Court in Andhra Pradesh said that the Constitution of our country is the highest among the constitutions of the world. On the occasion of The Constitution Day, a special guest lecture programme was organized under the aegis of Vadlamudi VignanÂ’s Institute of Law Department in Chebrolu mandal. Justice G Ramakrishna Prasad of the Amaravati High Court, who was the chief guest at the event, said that the students should study law and work towards ensuring that everyone in the society gets justice. Students studying law should be prepared to learn new things and new technologies every day. In order to protect the freedom and liberties of the citizens of India, the Constitution provides for the right to equality, the right to freedom of person, the right to freedom of person, the right to prevent exploitation, the right to freedom of religion, the right to education and culture, and the responsibility of protecting them has been entrusted to the courts. It is the lawyer who solves every problem in the society. Students pursuing law education should keep an eye on what kind of events and developments are happening in the society every day.
"The profession of a lawyer is challenging and students who want to excel in it should read books and journals well. With digitization and cyber crime on the rise, students studying law should get a grip on new technologies like artificial intelligence, cyber security and data science. Dr. Lavu Rathaiah, Chairman, VignanÂ’s Educational Institutions, said that in the recent past, all sectors like agriculture, industries, hotels, sports, entertainment, etc. have been privatized and every single company is entering into agreements and laws with their respective clients. In this context, there is a huge demand for students who have studied law. He said that law is not just about those who argue in court, but every industry and company has to have a legal department that has studied law. On the occasion of Constitution Day, certificates of appreciation and cash prizes were presented to the students who excelled at various programmes. Vice-Chancellor of VignanÂ’s University Colonel, Prof. P. Nagabhushan, Registrar Dr. M.S. Raghunathan, Deans, Heads, Faculty and students of the respective departments were present on the occasion.

Climate Change
Dr P Prasada Rao, joint chief environmental engineer, AP Pollution Control Board, said climate change can be effectively controlled by making technology available to all in developing countries like India. The Second International Conference on "Bridging the Gap: Legal and Technical Approaches to Climate Change" was organized by the Department of Law, Vadlamudi Vignan’s University, Chebrolu mandal on Saturday. Dr. P. Prasada Rao, Joint Chief Environmental Engineer, AP Pollution Control Board, who was the chief guest at the event, said that the legal steps will pave the way for technical solutions. "Climate change has now become a major problem across the globe and climate change is creating disasters in our country. It is very important to integrate technical solutions with legitimacy to solve this problem. He said funds have been allocated to promote conservation laws, environmental guidelines and scientific research as per the National Climate Change Action Plan (NAPCC)" in the country.
These laws are focused on reducing the use of non-renewable energy sources. Ramesh B Viswanath, a member of the Telangana government's forest committee and solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, who was also the chief guest at the event, said technologies like clean energy technology, smart agriculture and carbon capture technology are conducive to a good environment. The use of solar, gas and biomass-based energies will reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and reduce pollution. As part of the Haritha Haram scheme in Telangana state, large scale plantation of saplings, expansion of forest areas and increasing greenery have been taken up. The aim of the scheme is to increase the forest cover in the state by up to 33% and increase greenery in every village and town. The aim is to promote plantation saplings through the Harithaharam project and provide an environment that is environmentally sensitive to all. Every gram panchayat and municipality is participating in the programme and working towards protecting the environment by planting saplings. Government departments, educational institutions and NGOs are also participating in the programme.
The programme will not only enhance the capacity to combat climate change, but will also provide plenty of oxygen for the respiration required for human life through forests and lush green areas. Justice Swatanter Kumar, a former judge of the Supreme Court of India and former chairperson of the National Green Tribunal, who was the chief guest online, said it is essential for the present world to be aware of the legal and technological ways to cope with climate change. Technology plays a major role in finding a solution to climate change. Technology is key to reducing carbon emissions and using renewable energy sources. Solar energy, wind energy and bioenergy can help mitigate climate change. With the increase in usage through these, it will be possible to control pollutants in the future. Air pollution can be reduced by promoting electric vehicles in place of fuel-dependent vehicles. Later, the chief guests were felicitated. Vice-Chancellor of Vignan University Colonel, Prof. P. Nagabhushan, Deans, Heads, Directors and students of the respective departments were present on the occasion.

VIGNAN - PRO-BONO CLUB
Justice Ravi Nath Tilhari of the Andhra Pradesh High Court said the government and the judiciary should work together with the aim of bridging gaps in providing legal services through the Pro-Bono Club scheme and providing legal aid to the people. The "Pro-Bono Club" was launched at Vignan’s University here on Sunday under the 'Nyaya Bandhu' scheme jointly under the aegis of the School of Law Department and the Ministry of Law and Justice at Vadlamudi Vignan’s University in Chebrolu mandal. Andhra Pradesh High Court Judge Justice Ravi Nath Tilhari, who was the chief guest at the inaugural function, said that with the launch of the club, the students pursuing law education should aim to provide free legal aid to the common people, especially the poor. Advocates should strive to bring social justice equally to all by voluntarily providing their capacity and services. He said the scheme will be of great benefit to the weaker sections of the society, especially the poor, women, the elderly and the differently-abled.
This will be a great opportunity to address their rights and issues through the availability of legal services. The Pro-Bono Club is a platform to mobilise lawyers who volunteer where they also provide assistance in civil and criminal cases. It is very important that the legal services are available to all and through this club, the legal services will reach the people. Through this scheme, beneficiaries can either contact lawyers directly or also connect through government legal forums. Lawyers have also called for voluntarily spending their time and becoming partners in social justice. With the launch of the Pro-Bono Club, the judiciary will become more integrated and the legal aid will be made easier for the common man. Dr. Lavu Rattaiah, Chairman, Vignan’s Educational Institutions, who was also the chief guest at the event, said that thousands of cases are already being resolved with the help of artificial intelligence judges in some countries. So all the students should master fields like artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning along with legal education. Only then will the students be informed that they will be able to climb to higher positions in the future.

Free Legal Aid Programme at Vejendla village
Vignan Institute of Law organised Free Legal Programme at Vejendla village near Tenali on 14th September 2024. Law students accompanied with faculties of VIL attended the programme. The camp was organised in association with the District Legal Services Authority, Advocate Sri Ram & Para Legal Volunteer Taj Mahumud Beg. The camp was also attended by the villagers including ladies and children. Mr. Abhinav Deep Dora , Assistant Professor of Law, Vignan Institute of Law while addressing the gathering informed that organising these programmes will create legal awareness in the public. Students will get practical knowledge with respect to legal issues pertaining in the society. Students of law created awareness among the villagers on Land disputes and prevention measures as well as on the rights of women, elderly parents and children. Villagers discussed about various family issues, property issues etc with the experts from VIL.
Students of VIL also addressed the people and discussed about the need of legal awareness to the children at school-level. They urged on the need to include a compulsory course on legal education describing about their rights and duties, moral values, norms & ethics in families and societies; that should be taught to all the students pursuing secondary school education. Students also shared several incidents when they had suffered many times due to lack of legal education & support from peer groups, which has become the need of the hour in present times to save our children and other vulnerable groups. They also enumerated various steps to be taken during cyber-crime reporting and tips to prevent such crimes.
Thereafter, several residents of village Vejendla came forward and met with the team of legal experts from VIL as well as District Legal Services Authority and discussed about their legal issues. There primary issues were pertaining to domestic violence, land disputes and property matters etc. Lastly, VIL is committed to conduct such legal aid camp more frequently in the vicinity of Dist. Guntur in the near future with a motto to the empower the society with an aim of providing social justice to all.

Guntur District Court
The students of the first year of the Vignan Institute of Law visited the Guntur District Court today (i.e., 14.09.2024) accompanied by the faculties. The students witnessed the Lok Adalat proceedings and also interacted with the judges. The students interacted with the parties attending the Lok Adalat proceedings to understand the nature of their problem. After attending the Lok Adalat Proceedings, the students also attended the court proceedings related to crime issues to get first-hand experience of legal proceedings. The judges oriented the students regarding the different types of cases coming to the court. It was an insightful experience for the first-year students.

Legal Aid Clinic
The event started with the Inaugural of the “Legal Aid Clinic” in Vignan Institute of law by the Smt T Leelavathi ( Secretary District Legal Service Authority & Senior Civil Judge) and allocated the DLSA panel advocate and designated Taj Muhamod Beg as Para Legal Volunteer. This will enable the common people, faculty and others to avail free legal aid on Saturdays morning in Vigan Instiute of Law’s Legal Aid. Followed by this a Legal Awareness camp on “Anti Ragging & Bulling” was organised in sangamam seminar Hall. Hon’ble Guest Secretary DLSA Ma’am addressed the audience and asked to report any ragging issues and gave some insights on the anti ragging measures to be taken and praised the Vignan University management for ZERO TOLERANCE to Ragging in the campus and hailed it as a ragging free campus.
She also advised the students not to tolerate any drug abuse and to be cautious and not to addict to drugs. The event was attended by Dean school of law and management Dr K Kalpana and Director Vignan Institute of law Dr C Kamaraju and other faculties and students from various departments. The Ex Public Prosecutor, High court advocate Katta Kalidasu garu also graced the event and addressed the students.

Law Department has conducted a guest lecture
Telangana High Court Advocate Asad Hussain said that if students want to practice corporate law, they should have a proper understanding of the law of contracts. Chebrolu Mandal organized a special guest lecture program on “Corporate Legal Practice and General Litigation” under the auspices of Law Department of Vadlamudi Science University. Telangana High Court Advocate Asad Hussain, who was the chief guest of the program, spoke about the challenges that students have to face after entering the legal profession. Students are advised to first understand the basics of law if they want to fight for people. Explained the interrelationship of Civil Procedure Code, Criminal Procedure and Corporate Laws and emerged as the foundation of legal practice. He explained the basic structure and legal responsibilities of companies as well as their working.
He gave practical examples to the students of how disputes arise and legal procedures are initiated in cases like company board resolutions, forgery cases, negotiable instruments etc. Also informed about various disputes like incorporation of company, suppression, misappropriation, shareholding etc. A corporate lawyer also explained the procedural aspects to the students like knowing the jurisdiction of the court, applicable rules, court etiquette etc. In the program, the staff and students of Vignan's Institute of Law participated in the lecture.
