Vignan's University Celebrates 4th OL & ODL Convocation
The 4th Convocation of the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) of Vignan's University was held with grandeur on 02-08-2026, where 1,425 students of MBA, MCA, BBA and BCA programmes under OL/ODL received their degrees. Addressing the graduates as the Chief Guest, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman Prof. K. Madhu Murthy said that the future belongs to skills, creativity, adaptability and lifelong learning, emphasising that degrees alone are no longer sufficient in a rapidly changing world. A total of 1,425 students received degrees, including 49 BBA, 63 BCA, 884 MBA and 429 MCA graduates. Prof. Madhu Murthy said a degree is only a gateway to opportunities, while success depends on skills, values, judgement and the ability to adapt. He highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence, automation, renewable energy, biotechnology, quantum computing, digital literacy, problem-solving, communication and teamwork, urging students to move from degree-centric to skill-centric learning and contribute to the Swarna Andhra Vision 2047. Renowned playback singer, voice artist and actress S.P. Sailaja was conferred an Honorary Doctorate. Inspiring graduates, she said, "Nothing is impossible when we work with sincerity and passion" and encouraged students to pursue their goals with discipline, gratitude and confidence. Vignan Educational Institutions Chairman Dr. Lavu Rathaiah urged students to embrace AI with courage and wisdom, stating that artificial intelligence should enhance learning, productivity and innovation without replacing creativity, ethics and independent thinking. He emphasised that character, discipline and values determine lasting success. Vice-chairman Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu advised graduates to embrace lifelong learning, adapt to rapid technological changes, maintain physical and mental well-being, and value relationships. Chancellor Dr. Pavuluri Subba Rao said entrepreneurship is about identifying opportunities and creating value, encouraging graduates to become job creators rather than job seekers. Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.V. Krishna Kishore announced the degree distribution, while the ceremony concluded with graduates receiving degrees amid celebrations. The convocation was attended by Chairman Dr. Lavu Rathaiah, Vice-Chairman Lavu Sri Krishnadevarayalu, Chancellor Dr. Pavuluri Subba Rao, CEO Dr. K. Meghana, Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.V. 14th Convocation of Vignan's University
The 14th Convocation of Vignan's University was celebrated with grandeur at Vadlamudi on 01-08-2026. Addressing the gathering, Attorney General of India Dr. R. Venkataramani said universities must remain centres of the continuous pursuit of truth, knowledge, and justice. He described convocation as the beginning of a new phase in students' lives and urged graduates to use knowledge responsibly for the benefit of society. Emphasizing scientific temper, critical thinking, ethical values, and social responsibility, he encouraged students to question, learn continuously, and uphold truth in the age of rapidly evolving technology. During the ceremony, 2,599 students received their degrees, while 63 students were honoured with gold medals, announced Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. V. Krishna Kishore. The university also conferred honorary doctorates on Shri Rajeev Nannapaneni, CEO, NATCO Pharma; Shri Mahesh Kolli, Founder, President & Joint Managing Director, Greenko; and Shri Mani Sharma, Music Director. Receiving the honour, Shri Rajeev Nannapaneni urged graduates to pursue innovations that create societal impact, emphasizing lifelong learning beyond academic achievements. Shri Mahesh Kolli said India is emerging as a global leader in the energy transition through clean energy and technological innovation. Shri Mani Sharma expressed gratitude, calling it his greatest blessing to be born a musician and serve society through music. Chairman of Vignan Educational Institutions Dr. Lavu Rathaiah highlighted the transformative potential of artificial intelligence and encouraged students to learn and use AI responsibly. Vice Chairman Lavu Sri Krishnadevarayalu inspired graduates to become the change they wish to see by embracing innovation, entrepreneurship, and continuous learning. Chancellor Dr. Pavuluri Subba Rao advised students to become job creators rather than job seekers and uphold integrity, humility, and humanity in every profession. The celebration concluded with enthusiastic graduates commemorating the milestone with their families and faculty. The event was attended by CEO Dr. K. Meghana , Registrar Prof. P. M. V. VFSTR Welcomes B.Tech. Freshers with Inspiring Orientation Programme
"When a student does not limit his efforts to mere studies and stretches himself or herself to excel in extracurricular activities, the resultant personality will be multi-dimensional." said Dr. Lavu Rathaiah, Chairman of Vignan Group. Welcoming students and parents, Dr. Lavu Rathaiah highlighted that despite challenging economic conditions, the University achieved 84% placements for the previous batch and recorded a 95% pass percentage. He emphasized the importance of the faculty-student-parent partnership, communication skills, planning, counselling, and world-class infrastructure in shaping successful graduates. He encouraged students to develop resilience, actively participate in extracurricular activities, and pursue NPTEL certifications to enhance employability and secure better career opportunities. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.V. Krishna Kishore advised the students with DRIVE - to avoid distractions; develop resilience; look forward for an industry ready career; be visionary and plan networking. He quoted the thought processes of several stalwarts of engineering and entrepreneurship like Steve Jobs etc., and their resemblance with the academic systems of VFSTRU. The Registrar, Prof. PMV Rao stated that this was the time for intellectual transformation of the students and even minute details should be taken care of for they can help for making well informed decisions. He said that VFSTR was furnished with well planned systems and can nurture the students to be tomorrow's leaders. Dr. K. Meghana, CEO of VFSTRU welcomed the students calling the inaugural as "students' first day of building their future". She counselled that one's choices, habits and efforts culminate into one's success. She said that VFSTRU's campus is now AI enabled and it is now "Agentic Vignan" which is ready for the AI dictated world of tomorrow. She pointed at the exclusive presence of Google Lab in VFSTRU. She brought to the notice of the students and parents that 97.37% of students of VFSTRU were awarded scholarship and equally good portion of them retained the support all through with their consistency and hard work. Dr. Malakondaiah, Former Director General of Police and Advisor to VFSTR, urged students to attend classes regularly, clarify their doubts without hesitation, make the best use of the University's academic and digital infrastructure, and enhance their learning through NPTEL courses. Prof. N. Srinivasu, Dean, School of Applied Sciences and Humanities, encouraged parents to continuously support and motivate their wards. The Deans and Heads of Departments also addressed the gathering, extending their best wishes to the students for a successful academic journey. The students and parents were then made to interact with their concerned HoDs and Academic Deans. The department tour was organised to apprise the students of their concerned departments. A sumptuous banquet was arranged for all the students and their parents present at the event.

Teachers Hold the Responsibility of Shaping Future Generations
The fourth lecture in the ''Udbhavya - Igniting Wisdom, Inspiring Change'' series was organized on Tuesday at Vignan's University, marking the 41st death anniversary of Padma Shri Dr. Yelavarthi Nayudamma. The programme was jointly organized by the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, Department of English and Other Foreign Languages, and Dr. Yelavarthi Nayudamma Science and Technology Foundation. The initiative aimed at promoting leadership qualities, values, and scientific thinking among students and youth. Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, VJK Kishore Sonti, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Jeppiaar University, Chennai, said that teachers carry the crucial responsibility of shaping future generations. He urged students to view responsibilities as opportunities and emphasized that serving the nation is one of life's greatest purposes. He also delivered a lecture on ''Understanding Science: A Science to Understand.'' Another guest speaker, India's Most Passionate Science Mentor, Er. Srinivas SG, highlighted the importance of science and technology in national development. He stressed that scientific thinking, innovation, and research are key drivers of social progress and encouraged students to develop curiosity, critical thinking, and a research-oriented mindset. Faculty members, researchers, and students participated in the programme.

12th International Yoga Day @ Vignan
Vignan's University celebrated the 12th International Yoga Day with immense enthusiasm under the theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing". Organised jointly by the Dean of Student Affairs Office, the Department of Physical Education, the NCC, and Vignan Junior College, the event witnessed the participation of over 600 students. Kriya yoga expert and motivational speaker, Polireddy Uma Maheswara Rao, emphasised the importance of positive thinking, spiritual growth, self-discipline, and regular yoga practice for overall well-being. Guest speaker Goli Lakshmaiah, DSP, Crime Branch, Guntur, highlighted yoga's role in promoting physical health, mental balance, self-awareness, and holistic personality development. Certificates and mementos were presented to winners of various competitions conducted as part of the Yoga Day celebrations. Deans, heads of departments, faculty members, and students attended the programme.

Shaik Sameena and Rakshita Maddala have been selected for prestigious internships at Amazon. Shaik Sameena secured the Data Engineer role with a stipend of 1.08K and will receive a confirmation package of 32 LPA after probation. Rakshita Maddala earned the Software Development Engineer in Test role with a stipend of 1.10K, followed by a confirmation package of 44 LPA upon successful probation.
