Thin film Research Center
The thin film research center promotes the interdisciplinary interest among Science graduates, postgraduates and scholars through research skills and research projects.

About
  • The Thin film research center was established in April, 2014 and located at ASF-01, U-Block, VFSTR. The equipment in the center was bought from the funding sponsored by DST-SERB project and later on it was bit developed by the SEED project amount given by parental university.
  • At present the center is coordinating by Dr. K.V. Madhuri with the association of Department of Physics.
  • Currently the center offers Ph.D. program in physics, especially in Materials Science- Thin films. The center assists the researchers and P.G. students to complete their projects from different universities.
  • Development of Amorphous, polycrystalline and nanocrystalline transition metal oxide thin films by Thermal and electron beam evaporation techniques.
  • Deposition of ultrathin nanocrystalline MoO3, Ti:MoO3, Ti:WO3thin films by DC magnetron sputtering.
  • Identification of new cathode materials for fabrication of solid state micro-batteries which yield high voltages.
  • Systematic characterization of the films for their utilization in electro- and photo –chromic devices and gas sensors.
