Under the Rural Awareness Work Experience (RAWE) Programme for final-year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students, Vignan Institute of Agriculture and Technology (VIAT), VFSTR, organized a Rythu Sadassu and Agricultural Exhibition on 16th September 2025 at Kolakaluru Village, Tenali Mandal, Guntur District, with the objective of creating awareness and disseminating sustainable farm technologies among the farming community. The event was organized as part of the 14-week village stay of students under the RAWE programme, during which they closely engaged with farmers and rural communities. Dr. P. M. V. Rao, Registrar, VFSTR graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Dr. T. Ramesh Babu, Dean, VIAT& SAFT, VFSTR presided over the programme as President. Shri R. Vijay Babu, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh and Shri K. Sudheer, Mandal Agriculture Officer, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh attended as Guests of Honour. The exhibition featured innovative agricultural technologies displayed through charts, posters, models, and live specimens, covering a wide range of perspectives such as Integrated Farming Systems, Climate-Smart Agriculture, Agri Mobile Applications, Market Linkages, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Electro-Culture, Solar Traps, Organic Farming, Hydroponics, Solar Dryers, Biochar, Vermicompost, Vermiwash, Kitchen Gardens, Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) formulations, Natural Farming, Smart Farming Models, Nano Fertilizers, Cow Dung Incense Sticks, Egg Emulsifiers, Coconut Root Feeding, and Good Agricultural Practices. The objective of the exhibition was to create awareness on sustainable agricultural solutions and diversified cropping systems to enhance productivity and profitability among the farming community. The programme was organized by 75 students placed across eight villages—Kolakaluru, Kollipara, Munnagi, Vallabapuram, Nutakki, Kornepadu, Mandapadu, and Pedavegi—in Guntur and Eluru districts as part of the RAWE initiative. The event concluded with the felicitation of host farmers by VIAT, VFSTR, in recognition of their valuable support extended to the students during the RAWE programme. A total of 210 participants, including farmers, faculty, and students along with host farmers from the eight villages, actively took part in the programme, making it a grand success.
