Day 1: Introductory Session (5th October 2024)

The FDP commenced with an introductory session, on setting the context for the event by raising key questions about the relevance of literary theories in contemporary research, emphasizing the need to rethink literary frameworks in light of current global shifts. This thought provoking session was featured by prominent speakers Prof. G. Mohanacharyulu, HoD, Prof. A. Sharada, Dean, and Dr. Shah Al Mamum Sarkar BoR.

Day 2: From Modernity to Postmodernity (6th October 2024)

On day 2, the resource person Prof. B. Tirupati Rao vividly elaborated to the participants the journey from Modernity to Postmodernity. In addition, this session highlighted the shifting paradigms that influenced literature, philosophy, society and culture, offering insights into how Postmodern perspectives reshape the understanding of texts and narratives.

Day 3: Philosophical and Cultural Shifts in Contemporary Times (7th October 2024)

Day 3, explored various possibilities of contemporary conditions through the discussions from the previous day’s session. In this regard, Prof. B. Tirupati Rao and Prof. A. Sharada explored the philosophical and cultural shifts that define the contemporary society. Further, this session examined how these shifts are reflected in literature and the importance of literary theories in understanding the complex cultural dynamics.

Day 4: Revisiting Literary Canons in the Changed Scenario (8th October 2024)

The fourth day, featuring Prof. B. Tirupati Rao, Prof. G. Mohanacharyulu, and Prof. A. Sharada, focused on revisiting and reevaluating literary canons in today's context. The speakers discussed how changing societal values and global events call for a reassessment of traditional literary canons, advocating for a more inclusive and diverse approach to literature.

Day 5: Follow-up Session and Reflections (9th October 2024)

The concluding day is a reflection session led by Prof. G. Mohanacharyulu, Dr. Reema Chabravarthi, Dr. G. Nageswara Rao, and Dr. Sri Ranganath. They summarized the key takeaways from the one-week FDP and encouraged participants to continue engaging with the application of literary theories in their research and teaching.
