Summary
In the Poster Presentation event, students N. Somya, N. Poojitha, and A. Harshitha represented the department with enthusiasm and academic excellence. Their posters focused on emerging trends and technologies in food processing, preservation, and product innovation. Each student presented their topic with clarity and confidence, effectively communicating complex ideas in a simple and visually engaging manner. The posters highlighted important issues such as food safety, sustainable processing methods, and the role of engineering in improving food quality and efficiency. Their work was well received by the judges, who appreciated the scientific accuracy, presentation style, and depth of understanding demonstrated by the participants. The event helped students enhance their technical communication skills, teamwork, and analytical thinking, all of which are essential qualities for aspiring engineers and food technologists. The active participation of food technology students in both events reflects Vignan University’s commitment to promoting experiential learning and practical skill development. The Department of Food Technology continuously encourages students to think innovatively and apply engineering principles to address real-world food industry challenges. Faculty members guided and mentored the students throughout the preparation process, helping them refine their ideas and ensuring that the exhibits met both academic and industry standards. Such mentorship not only supports academic excellence but also nurtures creativity, innovation, and a problem-solving mindset among students. The Engineer’s Day celebration served as a meaningful platform for students to express their innovative ideas, showcase their technical knowledge, and demonstrate how engineering plays a vital role in food science and technology. It also reinforced the department’s vision of fostering a generation of engineers who are not only technically skilled but also socially responsible and sustainability-oriented. The efforts of students—V. Ratna Varshini, Ch. Sneha Sri, and Sk. Arfa Bibijaan in new product development, and N. Somya, N. Poojitha, and A. Harshitha in poster presentation—were commendable and truly inspiring. Their participation and winning 1st place in both poster and new product development showcased the department’s strong foundation in innovation, research, and practical application of knowledge. Overall, the Engineer’s Day celebration at Vignan University was a grand success, highlighting the university’s dedication to academic excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Food Technology Department’s contribution stood as a shining example of how engineering principles can be creatively applied to improve food products, enhance nutrition, and promote sustainability. Through their enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork, the students embodied the true spirit of engineering—using science and innovation to create solutions that benefit society. The event not only celebrated the legacy of Sir M. Visvesvaraya but also inspired young minds to follow his footsteps by striving for excellence and innovation in every field of engineering, including food technology
