Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology & Research (Deemed to be University) offers its support to the foreign students in securing student visa from the High Commission of India by sending a requisition letter to the office of the Consulate General. VFSTR will send provisional admission offer to the student in one of the opted courses and information about the date of commencement of classes. The High Commission of India in that country after scrutinizing and confirming the authenticity of documents submitted by the student issues student visa at the earliest.
Every foreign student holding a Student Visa which is part of the mandatory requirement, within the stipulated timeframe of arrival in India, has to register his/ her name with the police in the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO). The timeframe may vary from 24 hours to 14 days of arrival depending on the country of citizenship. A student with a PIO & OCI card holders also must register at the FRO. Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology & Research (Deemed to be University) would only provide necessary possible assistance in this regard. The applicable immigration processing fees and other related expenses have to be borne by the student.
Students are required to register online and then personally visit the FRO to collect the documents based on the Unique ID number generated online. The FRO is located at the Office of Superintendent of Police, Guntur.
The Coordinator for foreign students from the office of Admissions, Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology & Research (Deemed to be University), will assist and guide the foreign students through the online registration process and as well facilitate their visit to the FRO. The student is required to produce/submit his/her original passport and four passport size photographs to complete the process.
If the student visa expires during the course of study, such students have to apply for extension of visa at the FRO at least 60 days prior to its expiry date. International students should also renew their RC and RP (Residential Permit) issued at the time of registration at FRO- Guntur as and when it expires and get extension of student visa. They must carry the documents with them when they travel to their native country as they have to be produced at the immigration counter in India.
