The Department of Mathematics and Statistics signifies a marked difference from customary practices of teaching and learning. Our primary programmes are B.Sc., B.Sc. + M.Sc. (Data Science) dual degrees, Ph.D. in Mathematics, Ph.D. in Statistics, and Post-Doctoral Fellowships. It also serves the needs of other departments such as Engineering Science and Technology, Business Administration, Computer Applications, Agricultural Sciences, and Diploma.

Further, it offers education as a pleasant pursuit with preparatory courses and introduces innovative practices in laying the foundation for budding engineers since its recognition in 2009.The Department of Mathematics and Statistics started a B.Sc. program (with Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science) in 2017. Recently, in the year 2022, a B.Sc. + M.Sc. (Data Science) dual degree programme has been introduced on par with NEP 2020. The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty members, all of whom have doctorates with strong research and professional expertise. Our department is the amalgamation of more than 40 faculty members from various wellreputed state universities, premier IITs and NITs, and more than 20 research scholars. Besides teaching, the faculty members are engaged in a broad range of research and relative development areas. It is also actively and extensively involved in research activities by offering Ph.D. programs in Mathematics and in Statistics and also post-doctoral positions.
