An awareness program on women safety with the help of mobile application has been conducted under the auspices of Women Empowerment and Development cell of the varsity. Ankita Kapoor, Project associate of Active Learning Solutions Pvt. Ltd graced this awareness session on 28th February 2020. On this note she spoke about the safety of women, problems regarding identifying the black spots in cities and the how the Safetypin applications help and gave a detailed overview of how this application work.
On February 28th, 2020, Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology & Research (Deemed to be University), celebrated National Science Day to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir C. V. Raman on 28 February 1928. The chief guest for the program is Dr. C. V. S Brahmananda Rao, Head, Solution Chemistry & Mass Spectrometry Section, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam, Tamilnadu.
Prof. Kartikeyan started a lecture with a broad range of electromagnetic spectrum and the applications of each frequency band. Later he has given the different perspectives on futuristic communications. Moreover, he explained about Moore's law and its development, electromagnetic spectrum, 5G requirements and targets, Millimeter wave communication, atmospheric attention versus frequency, Gallium nitrate devices and its applications, and gyrotron technology.
On 6/2/2020, a one-day lecture workshop on ‘Atomistic simulations for the applications of Material Science” was conducted by the Division of Chemistry of the department of Sciences and Humanities (S&H), Vignan’s Foundation for Science, Technology and Research. The chief guest of the workshop was Dr. D. L. V. K. Prasad, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, IIT Kanpur and the guest of honor for the occasion was Dr. V. Subramanian for CSIR-CLRI, Chennai.
"The Vignan Mahotsav" a national level youth festival, organized annually by the Vignan University, provides an unparalleled forum for all the students across the country to test and showcase their intellectual, athletic and artistic powers hidden in them. Students from various regions of India came to the varsity to participate in 72 events organised by the students of VFSTR. A total of 8513 students registered on the first day of the fest. Separate accommodation for boys and girls were also arranged for the students at varsity guest house and hostels that came from far places.
Republic day celebrations were held with enthusiasm and zeal. All the students and staff participated in the event. The chief Guest Dr. M. Sridhar Acharyulu, Former Central Information Commissioner delivered an inspirational speech to all the budding engineers and managers. The special attraction was the parade by NCC cadets. The faculty members were given with prizes for their excellent performance in teaching and research.
"Dream big, Discover your path, inner power and outside opportunities and lastly Do" - Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi quoted in a seminar held at Vignan University, Guntur. Kailash Satyarthi, Nobel Prize for Peace winner(2014) for "Struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education", visited Vignan University to address the students and motivate the younger generations towards the eradication of child labour, child abuse, child and women trafficking and forced slavery.
VFSTR family celebrated SANKRANTHI with great enthusiasm and zeal. The traditions of this great festival were recalled by performing Go Puja, Haridasu Keerthana, Bhogipandlu, Rangoli, Gobbemmalata, Bhogifire etc… The Chancellor Prof. K. Ramamurthy Naidu addressed the staff and students about this harvest festival. The dignitaries gave away the prizes to the winners of various events from students and staff.
Zonal Student Congress 2020 was grandly organised under the auspices of IEEE Guntur Sub Section at VFSTR. Program started traditionally with lightening the lamp by the chef guest D. Ramakrishna, CEO of Efftronics system private limited. Dr. N. Usha Rani, Program convener deliberated the importance of IEEE and the events organised by IEEE which inspired the students in many ways. "Student Professional Awareness Activities (SPAA)", is a two-day event that was organized from 27th - 28th December 2019 in Sangamam Seminar Hall of ECE Dept., by IEEE Student Branch of VFSTR (Deemed to be University) in collaboration with IEEE Hyderabad Section. The main theme of the event is the Humanitarian Grand Challenges. It is a professional awareness emphasizes the importance of technical and non-technical aspects of engineers to future engineers.
The Department of IT, VFSTR deemed to be University, Vadlamudi organized a Three day National workshop on "Block Chain and its applications" during 23-25 December 2019. Dr. Manish Jain and Mr. Akhilesh Kumar Chousara, Corporate Trainers from Samriddhi solutions, Indore were the resource persons of the workshop. 11 faculty members, research scholars and 55 students were attended the workshop.

The Department of Biotechnology, Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology and Research organized an international conference on "Environmental Sustainability, Human Health and Development" during 20th-22nd December, 2019. The topic chosen for the conference, of course, a broad but intended to cover the environmental adversities and their impact on the health of biota.

The Guest Speaker, Dr P Murugan from Central University of Hyderabad was expert in academic writing has given a detailed talk on the process of theory development, theoretical contribution and the components of scholarly writing for quality publication.
Mr.David Josar and Ms.Suneetha Thanneru from US Consulate had visited VFSTR on 10/12/2019. They met the Vice Chancellor Dr. M.Y.S. Prasad and other deans of VFSTR. In a jam- packed seminar hall, interaction with the students lasted for couple of hours.
The program was inaugurated in the Mechanical Engineering Department with Chief Guests Mrs. Deepa Balasubramanian, CEO, The Sedibus (Malaxmi Group's Complete Startup Ecosystem) and Mr.Naveen Kumar Mandava, Industrial Promotion Officer, Guntur District. Mr. Naveen Kumar, during the inaugural address, said that the State and Central Governments have announced various schemes to promote startup activities, especially in engineering institutes.
Department of ECE, VFSTR organized a one week faculty development program from 22nd to 27th November 2019. In the first day of FDP (22-11-19, first two sessions) Dr.N.Usha Rani, Professor,VFSTR delivered a lecture on overview of AI and Deep Learning. She also discussed mathematical fundamentals needed for AI and Deep learning. In 3rd and 4th sessions of first day Dr.Jakeer Hussain, deputy, HOD,ECE, discussed basics of Python.
A Two days International Conference was held on 8th Nov. 2019. Initially the program was commenced with lightening the lamp on the stage, and followed by release of Brochure. Pahang Malysian University Professor Dr Rizalman Mammath mentioned that the future will be for the Industrial Robots, as a part of "Emerging Trends in Mechanical Engineering (ICETME-2019)". He also stated that in future Automobiles, Agriculture, Hospital's, Software & Hardware sectors will make use of the Industrial Robots in large and vehicles will be driven by Robots only and for which the students should get ready.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas has been organised in the Vignan's Foundation for Science Technology & Research on 31st October 2019 at Sangamam Seminar hall to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. CVC's theme for this year's Vigilance Awareness Week is "Integrity A Way of Life" with emphasis on spreading awareness in fight against corruption to all sections of Society.

Gandhi Jayanti is a national festival celebrated in India to mark the birth anniversary of Mohan Das Karamchand GandhiS born on 2nd October 1869. 2nd October 2019 is the 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. VFSTR is celebrating this occasion from a week before Gandhi Jayanthi.
The "World Pharmacists Day" was conducted by the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences on 25th Sep'19. The International Pharmaceutical Fedaration (FIP) Congress, in Istanbul, Turkey designated 25th September as annual World Pharmacist Day in 2009, and is followed every year. Pharmacist is the only professional who relates the use of drugs in the patients and has a better understanding about the condition of the patient and the mechanism of action of the drugs and can ensure effective treatment was opinioned by the speakers.
National Service Scheme, (NSS) was launched in 1969. Aimed at developing student's personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges and Universities working for a campus-community especially in villages. NSS day is celebrated on 24th September in every year.

The Engineering Community across India is celebrating Engineers Day on 15 September every year as a remarkable tribute to the greatest Indian Engineer Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya (popularly known as Sir MV). He is held in high regard as a pre-eminent engineer in India. This event is organized to create awareness for students and faculty on role of engineers in the development of our Nation.
VFSTR marked a memorable day in the life of every fresher with excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter, and happiness. The purpose of the Fresher's Party was to make every new student feel connected as an integral part of the Vignan's family and get ready to take on the challenges of the year ahead. Freshers were formally welcomed to the celebrations.

The 7th annual convocation of Vignan Foundation for Science Technology and Research was held on 27/07/2019 at vadlamudi campus Guntur. The occasion is graced with eminent personalities from different sectors of the society and graced the occasion; around 1500 graduates have received their degrees on the hands of eminent personalities of the varisty and guests of honor.
The conference was inaugurated on 19th July 2019 at 9.30 am. Dr. D. P. Kothari was the Chief Guest. There was a total of six lectures. Dr. D. P. Kothari delivered a talk on the Evaluation of Mathematics and its developments and concluded with applications of Mathematics to Engineering and various fields of Sciences.

To accelerate the efforts to achieve universal sanitation coverage and to put focus on sanitation, the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, launched the Swatch Bharat Mission. In this regard, the varsity had organized Cleanliness Drive on 13th July at H Block of the varsity.
Dr. A. Sharada, Convenor, AFD in her opening remarks said that it is our tradition at Vignan's University to conduct orientation programme for newly recruited faculty members. She also said that the need of the programme for new faculty members is to make them to understand the vision and mission of our university and enable them to meet the expectations set for them. She hoped that this training will help faculty develop their confidence and comfort during teaching - learning process in the classrooms.
A 3-Day Faculty Development Program on Cyber Security, Crypt Analysis and security for Physical Infrastructure sponsored by DST (ICPS) organized by Department of Information Technology.The first session started with the plenary speech by Dr.R.K.ShyamSundar,Professor, Department of CSE,IIT Bombay. He gave a speech on “Cyber Security: Future Challenges”. He enlightened the participants with his speech and he created interest among the participants. He also discussed how privacy is different from Confidentiality, Applications of Cyber Security, AI and Cyber Security, Data Governance.
Career Advancement Scheme (CAS)-2019 interviews were conducted successfully on 01.06.2019 to promote eligible faculty members to the next cadre. A total of 21 applications from various disciplines or departments were received. A preliminary screening committee headed with Rector as Chairman, scrutinized the applicants eligibility as per UGC rules and regulations 2018 guidelines and identified nine applicants suitable for representation before final selection committee (CAS committee) on 01.06.2019
The core objective of the workshop was to equip the participants with set of skills and potentiality to undertake the research very effectively in the disciplines of social science and to turn completed research into publishable material of high quality in the form of thesis, articles, and journals. The workshop consists of both theory and practical.Dr. G. V. K. Acharyulu, Guest addressed the gathering on importance of research and stressed the role of basic research, importance of business research and its contribution towards Indian economy.
